KEY
- Triangle: gregorian & julian Easter;
X: Hebrew Passover (beginning the evening before);
Ellipse: gregorian, julian & astronomical (true) paschal full moon;
Line: julian 21 march (= equinox).
7 days between solid horizontal lines.
- Astronomical full moon is given in Dynamical Time (TD). Universal Time (UT) is Dynamical Time minus 65 seconds near year 2000. Italy time zone is UT + 1 hour (UT + 2 hours during daylight saving time).
- Dates are calculated according to the algorithms given in N. Dershowitz / E.M. Reingold, Calendrical Calculations, Cambridge 1997 (I took the on-line errata document into consideration; there is also an updated edition) <http://emr.cs.uiuc.edu/home/reingold/calendar-book>. The astronomical full moon is calculated according to J. Meeus, Astronomical Algorithms, Richmond 1998 (2nd ed.).
- About the dates of Easter, give a look at http://digilander.iol.it/elam/bibbia/calendari.htm (in italian). An Easter calculator in Javascript by Eugenio Songia is at http://space.tin.it/edicola/esongi/calcolopasqua.htm (it works off-line too).
- This graph is made thanks to Vector Markup Language (VML), written dynamically by ASP technology. VML is supported only by Internet Explorer v.>=5.0.
